It's Nearly Time!

So; this is my first ever foray into the world of blogging, those who know me well will be aware of my various technical inadequacies, and as such i owe a great deal of thanks to Tom for pointing me in the right directions here.

The Raison d'ĂȘtre for this, perhaps questionable window into my mind, is principally to allow all you friends and family an easy way to follow my progress from a whimsical civilian to a hard chiseled Officer in the Army; and relieve me of the burden of multiple emails during my limited Internet time at Sandhurst.  However i also aim to provide an honest and accurate account of the process.  As such i apologise in advance to any of the more sensitive readers out there, my experience of the Army thus far is that the language appears to be compensating in colour for the lack of colour in the clothing.  This along with what may appear at times rather crude nature of basic training will I'm sure rub off on this blog and i hope i don't offend!

It only remains in this last initial entry then for me to thank sincerely all those who have helped, guided and at times challenged my progress through selection and visits and training etc to the stage i aim now with 2 days left as a civilian.  Its been a long process, and I'm sure i have at times bored many of you to tears with all the details (by all accounts i will be boring you a lot more in the future though!).  I hope you all know who you are, and how much i appreciate your support.  The last few weeks have been a incongruous cocktail of kit list obsessing, furious exercise, reading and excessive drinking.  I'm sure at multiple points i found myself up in the morning certainly still hungover, probably still drunk but doing press ups and simultaneously searching the Internet to find out what Nirex was, or what exactly a man who hasn't so much as successfully shot a tin can at a county fair needs Sniper Tape for.  It has however been great fun and i thank you all for that!  Time has not permitted me to see as many of you as i would have wished, and i apologise, especially as I'm sure i will be relying on many of your support over the next few months.

I will be back to bore you again soon, perhaps even with some photos.
